With over 37 years of teaching experience and a background in both classical and commercial styles, I help students build a strong foundation in technique, theory, and sight reading—while also incorporating the music they love. From scales to chord progressions, lead sheets to full scores, you’ll learn the skills you need to play confidently and expressively across genres.

No grand piano? No problem. If you’re just starting out, a full-size digital keyboard is a great place to begin. What matters most is consistency, curiosity, and a willingness to learn. Whether you’re a beginner or returning after years away, you’ll gain the tools to make music that’s both smart and soulful.

At The Zona Studio, piano study is never one-size-fits-all. Whether you’re a teen exploring music for the first time, an adult returning to the keyboard after a long break, or a singer who wants to become more musically independent, I’ll meet you exactly where you are. Together, we’ll build a custom learning path based on your goals, your preferred styles, and the skills you want to develop.

You’ll gain a solid foundation in technique, music theory, and sight reading while learning how to play pieces you actually enjoy. My goal is to help you become a fluent, expressive musician—someone who doesn’t just follow notes on a page, but makes music with intention and artistry.

Payment

Payment is made on a semester basis. The year is divided into two semesters: 

• Fall/Winter: 18 lessons between September 1st and January 30th
• Winter/Spring: 18 lessons between February 1st and June 30th

Lessons in July and August are offered on a case-by-case basis

Payment is DUE IN FULL IN THE FIRST WEEK OF THE SEMESTER. I will send an invoice which can be paid online (with a credit card or bank account), or through Venmo, or Zelle.
